OverView

RAWdance is an award-winning contemporary dance company that transforms theaters and public spaces through performance, curation, and collaboration. Founded in San Francisco in 2004 by Co-Artistic Directors Ryan T. Smith and Wendy Rein, the company expanded bicoastally in 2019 with programming in New York’s Hudson Valley. Known for their nuanced, charged dances that explore human relationships and social issues, they needed a digital platform that could effectively tell their story, showcase their diverse projects, and strengthen connections with their growing audience across both coasts.

Solution

We led comprehensive discovery, design, and development to create an engaging digital experience that authentically represents RAWdance’s artistic vision and community impact. The new website features a rich project showcase with rich visual storytelling, integrated events management for their celebrated CONCEPT salon series, and a complementary content management system for future website updates. Built with custom post types for events and projects, the platform helps the organization share the broad expanse of their work while helping them continue to support the bi-coastal dance community.
